When a resident or visitor calls the Franklin Borough Police Department for assistance, the initial responding Officer is one who is assigned to the Patrol Division. Officers of the Franklin Borough Police Department who are assigned to the Patrol Division handle all of the initial investigative duties that pertain to calls for service in the Borough.

These officers:

  • Collect evidence
  • Conduct crash investigations
  • Effect arrests
  • Interview witnesses and suspects
  • Meet with the reporting person
  • Render first aid
Patrol Cars


Many Patrol Officers have received specialized training in investigative techniques, narcotics detection and investigation, evidence recovery, and crisis intervention training (CIT) which enhances their response to our Borough. Patrol Officers receive advanced training in Community Oriented Policing, Use of Force, Police Vehicle Operations and a myriad of other law enforcement topics. The Patrol Division also encompasses the Traffic Unit.

Patrol Zones

The Borough of Franklin is divided into two patrol zones. The patrol unit operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. Each shift is generally supervised by a Sergeant and/or Lieutenant.
